OMG The turtles are .......

No, I know I dont have any land at the moment but the idea of turtles coming out of the sea and walking past my window was one I could picture. So it was off to the home of the Petable Turtle to find out what I would be letting myself in for should I ever be stupid enough to get land and turtles. Joined by Lars, Big Daddy's senior DJ, and legend extraordinaire, off we toddled to see what we could find.

As I stood next to the statue my first thought was... shit... hope they aren't all that big....

It was a blonde moment... what can I say. =0P.

The store consists of three big tents containing food, and accessories... Accessories??? OMG what could a turtle want ffs.  How about a pine tree... every turtle wants one on its back right???  Or a top hat? Some flowers perhaps, or a flag?   Yes... all turtles need accessories.

The path beckoned and it was off down the hill we raced to find a quaint little gypsy caravan village where you could sit around an open fire and discuss.... what else... turtles of course.

I didnt want to talk about them of course - I wanted to see them... so off to the show and fishing area we went.

*blush*... Lars was the first to bring my attention to the sight before us.  What we found was ... ummmm.... well let''s just say.... they should have been called rabbits. You could *watch* them at it while 7-seas fishing if that was your thing but we decided to leave them to it in peace.

It was with some disappointment that I didnt get to see the turtles wandering around, so your guess as good as mine what they actually DO... but, needless to say, the accessories etc were fun and it does seem to be something that many are hooked on, given that one of the top traders of Petable turtles has over 3250 of them.

Yup... I think they should have been called rabbits.

Spencer Museum of Art

It was time to go walkabout again and boy, did I find a great place - Spencer Museum of Art.

Joined by my trusted sidekick, Ely, our exploration began.

As the scenery around us started to rezz we became aware of the strange things we were soon about to face.

The first thing to "fly" into view was a rideable sheep helicopter (delightfully demonstrated by Ely) which will make you dizzy, so be careful.

Then a pipe that spat out pink armchairs on springs, which, if you sit on them has the potential of bouncing you just about anywhere including inside a strange series of pipes that floated above the sim.

It was time to investigate as I had lost Ely to god knows where and as her screams rang through our Skype call I knew she needed saving. "Help!" she said, "I don’t know where I am", along with "weeeeeeeeee!" as she bounced along a pipe and the occasional scream of "Aaarrggghhh" and a splat.

I wandered around the base and found a ladder, but being that it didn’t look particularly safe to climb I looked for another way to get inside.

It was drawn to my attention by Ely, who was still lost somewhere within the pipes, that the pipes have a habit of falling down. So make sure you aren’t in them when they collapse as you WILL go down with them hence the screams and splat I had heard earlier.

As soon as they had fallen the pipes began to rebuild into a new shape, twisting and turning as pieces reconnected and a new path was laid.

I stumbled across a gigantic floating couch was big enough for the Marshmallow Man to comfortably sit on and have room for others.

While Ely managed to climb up some pipes and found some interesting houses and a cafe perched precariously on top of some of them. I decided to watch from a distance to see if the buildings would fall before I ventured up to join her.

What is the purpose of this build you may ask? My answer is... your guess is as good as mine, but it sure is fun trying to find a way through the pipes and watching the entire structure disintegrate and rebuild. Check it out and see, either alone or with a friend, but be careful where you step because "Here be demons".

And NO, we have no idea why there is a chicken here that lays eggs when you click it but it’s no ordinary hen; the eggs come in all colours, from your standard white to golden or brightly patterned Easter eggs.

Thanks to my buddy Ely for taking time out from her other friends and family to ride the rocking horse and generally be silly for a while.

THE MYSTERY MONKEY MAN...

At midnight SLT the curse strikes the vampires but this night, as the hour struck, something else happened. It may have been a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time but for this vampire it was right on all levels.

So what happened that had made this day so special? Well it started in a sandbox.. Mythos sandbox to be exact. I come here often as it's relatively quiet and has a great free sound and texture library.

Anyway, being that I wear an amulet to protect me from the curse I thought nothing as the hour of midnight drew closer.

I was therefore astonished when a deadly white fog descended over the area and out of it stepped.... the Mystery Monkey Man.

Now, you know, for a robot Gorilla he cuts a dashing figure but as I cammed around this shiny being, who was so proudly strutting around the sandbox, I was shocked to discover that I too had been transformed. Had this something to do with the curse? We were both vampires, (You can tell by the fangs) and the fog had appeared at midnight so who knows.

Not being the shy type, I asked this fine specimen of robotedness how he was (I assumed he was male since I seemed to have nipples and a brightly coloured headband but he didn't). We chatted for a while and I told him how I love to explore and he offered to accompany me. So metal to metal we stomped off to the first of two destinations.

Kissling was the first port of call and after a short walk we found our destination - The Kissling River Tour. We boarded, took our seats and it was soon time to depart.

(Make sure you have your environment set to midnight for the best effect as you cruise past the great light displays.)

Once we had laughed and giggled our way down the river we explored a little and found a fabulous gingerbread house.

I frolicked in the snow making snow angels, although I am not sure it was such a good idea.

I could have rusted you know.

We attempted to ice skate but since they wouldnt attach to our feet I decided to pose for a pic instead.

A word of warning - watch out when you exit the skating rink, the drivers in this sim are deadly.

After a quick discussion about where we should go next it was time for a quick trip back to the sandbox to get changed into something a little more formal. Mystery Monkey Man doned a gorgeous red bow tie and black tails and I found a gown fit for a....robot. Then we tp'd to..........Titanic.

I wanted to be Kate Winslet and he decided to be my Leonardo Di Caprio which meant....standing on the bow, arms spread feeling the wind rushing through our hair?

You have no idea how hard it was to keep our balance with the amount of laughter that was being generated.

Then, he held my metal hand in his and we flew to the stern to dance.

It took time to find a dance that didn't have us looking like conjoined twins but once we did we didn't want to stop.

Of course, no trip to Titanic is complete without sitting on the moon and wishing sweet nothings in each other's ear, such as "ohhh baby, you are so shiny tonight. What do you use? Wenol?" How romantic!

I do hope I get a chance to bump into the Mystery Monkey Man again.

He was a knight in shining armour LOL.

My last adventure with Nacho.

I was blessed the day my best friend said to me there is someone here who is asking about vampires, for it was the day I met Nacho. His is a beautiful soul and it was with honour that he lieged himself to me.

Yes, for those of you who don't know, I am a vampire but one who doesn't hunt. What an oxymoron am I! LOL.

We faced great difficulties as we had a language barrier - he speaks Spanish, I not a word of it. But his English has improved greatly since we met and we progressed from baby talk (how frustrating is that for an adult) to more normal chats.

A couple of days ago he invited me to look around Siggy's Waterworks Island with him and so this exploration began.

Siggy's is really a giant shop but there are some cool things here.

The landing point is in the middle of the store where are you surrounded by an array of swimming accessories. From pools to waterslides, bathing suits to swim rings, surf boards to deck chairs this place had the lot.

Considering this is a PG sim I was surprised to find a nude beach.

Simply, but nicely landscaped it is a pleasant place to hang around if you want an all round tan.

More of a surprise was what is hidden on the sim. I'm not going to tell you where, that is for you to find, but needless to say it is a place to chat, relax, and for those who want a little more, upstairs there is a place you can enjoy time with a special friend should you choose.

After checking out the waterslides and swimming pools (there is even one here for vampires - it is filled with blood *laugh*) I have to say, for me, the highlight of the sim was the swim rings. Who can resist floating around in a penguin or crab inner tube. Bugger using a boat, the next time i have go to a water sim I'm going in on my crab.

Little did I know it would be the last time I would get to spend any time with this fascinating man. He has decided to take a break from Second Life before he loses his Real Life to it - something many of us have experienced at one time or another, so it is with mixed feelings that I bid him farewell.

As I sit and reflect on the times I got to spend with this man I hope I will see this soul again but if I don't I know it will be flying high in another realm, the one where his body lives.

Until then .... all the best my dear friend.

Risk City

It was time, I felt the urge to explore sweep over me and so I opened the showcase in search of somewhere new.    What I found was Risk City.

With a description of "Explore at your own risk! Once you arrive in Risk City, you can use the teleport to discover multiple mysteries and secrets, including an art exhibition, a spa and a hidden bedroom.

There are many more imaginative surprises in this dreamland created by SL Resident SuzeLaRousse Milo" it was hard to resist so with my trusty notebook and camera in hand I began my search of the sim.

A wonderful scene was before me accompanied by an ethereal soundtrack, definitely giving the whole place an atmosphere of intrigue.

My first task was to get the road map, positioned for easy access pretty much at your feet when you tp. I also grabbed Suze Survival Pack, a suitcase full of goodies I will look through later.

So with my roadmap in front of me it was time to start the exploration.  By right clicking, then selecting touch I was able to select the first of my destinations, Ice Storm, and so it began.

1. "Icestorm" is a something to behold.  On arrival I suggest you obtain the attachment to make the ice slippery, it will make your experience here much trickier as you slip around as you walk.

With a strange mushroom in the middle you can click on the base to begin skating on ice.  Nearby is a chair for ice fishing and in the tent you can float in meditation above hot coals and not forgetting the all important all-seeing eye.

2. The "Chocolate Factory" was like stepping into the Willy Wonka but even weirder... (Is that possible?).

Who doesn't LOVE chocolate.  YUM

As usual, looking down and watching was the all-seeing eye.

3. The "Gallery" was next on the list. Something that quickly struck me was the cleverly position pose balls enabling you to take shots of yourself and a friend at all the locations.

Examples of the possible shots are on display in the Gallery.

4. "I Spy" was my next port of call.

From the computer I could see the movements of others on the sim...or could I?

5. "Honey Water", my next destination, proved to be an interesting one.

With the honey bees dropping in to drink from the honey water, it made sense to hang around on the ladder out of their way.

6. "Suzerella" was stunning and it was here that I was joined by Calvin which made it even more fun to try out the poses for a while.

There is a gorgeous dance that was a pleasant surprise and the bubble bath... Well what can I say... that was a new one.

7. "Farm Spa" was an intriguing name for some stunning scenery and some fabulous poses.

Another dance and some great photo opportunities and, of course, that eye blinking or was that winking at me.

8. At "Be Wild" and the first thing that caught my eye was an ironing board.  Now I don’t know about you... but being wild and an ironing board don't exactly compute unless you are talking a little kinky LOL.  After a couple of wines, I suppose anything is possible.

The all-seeing eye kept a lookout to make sure nothing untoward was going on.

9. Joining me for "Ladies Night" was by my next sidekick, London.

What exactly he was doing with the pillow between his legs I'm not quite sure but I must admit the bouncing on the bed was a bit of fun and the dance... yum.

10. "Dirty & Mad" had me holding my breath while I sat within the safety of a cage while a fish circled me.

I'm not sure if it thought that I was its prey but London, being the wuss he is, was watching from above.

11. "Paradox" by name and nature. It is a puzzle of pieces that don’t make any sense yet do.

Climb the ladder, have a swing or ask a friend out on a date.  The choice is yours

12 "Hot Tin Roof"  Where else would you want to dance than on a "Hot Tin Roof".

Better still, cam around, find the two chairs and relax with a bottle of wine or hide behind the red privacy screen.  Bliss.

13. "Wild Beach" is a little walk from the landing spot.

Through the gates, and down the steps you will find a quiet, secluded spot to relax with a friend on the raft, swim in cool waters or just lazy on the beach.

14. The "Castle" has a cute spinning pose to try, but of course London couldn’t resist climbing to the top and standing up shouting "I'm the King of the Castle".   Men!

15. "zzZzzzz"  After 15 different stops snoring was definitely on my agenda.

First a quick swim in the pool or a soak in the tub, and a little meditation to take in the gorgeous atmosphere of this amazing build.

Don’t forget to check out the @Risk store before you leave.
A fascinating array of items and poses are there for you to inspect and try.

The blinking eye is a theme that runs throughout the experience.  Make sure you let Suze know if you like what you see by giving eye a few Lindens in appreciation of her talent.  Her creativity is to be applauded.

Take your time. From start to finish this is a MUST SEE sim.

Thank you to my friends who accompanied me at various stages through my journey.
